Growing Together

I was asked to design a set of seasonal murals for the entrance of a primary school , each child in school helped to paint a section before I added the silhouettes. The design is based on the work of an incredible concept artist, Mary Blair, one of the first female Disney artists (well worth a google if you haven’t heard of her) . The design also features the schools motto.

The Four Seasons

I worked with each class at this Infant School to design and create a series of  paintings (on panels of MDF). Each of the four seasons is depicted in the style of four different artists , Friedensreich Hundertwasser (Spring), Romero Britto (Summer), Yayoi Kusama (Autumn) and Sonia Delaunay (Winter), they also illustrate features of the local area.

We Can, We will!

This primary school project is based on the design concept from the Rio De Janiero Olympics, the central feature is a combination of the Brazilian flag and the schools logo and Motto. The silhouettes depict several of the children from each class that helped paint the murals with me.

Let it Grow!

These murals were designed and created for the playground and sensory garden of a Catholic primary school, with help from all of the pupils. The large mural represents the changing seasons in the style of a stained glass window.

Citizens of the World

diversity and unity

I worked with a group of students from a local secondary school,  which embraces many  cultures and ethnicities. The mural attempts to portray a positive message of diversity and unity. It incorporates an abstract world map, with the colours and shapes taken from the school logo. I have once again used silhouettes of the students alongside a quote.

Making an Impression

Painted on plywood, this large scale acrylic piece depicts a local primary school in the form of Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night. I worked with a group of G&T pupils to take photographs of the school, selecting the most suitable view. We painted using bold, generous brushstrokes and a contrasting colour palette to create an illusion of depth and movement; important characteristics of the impressionist style.
