Public Murals

Though most of my murals are in homes and hospitals, I have also had the opportunity to paint in other settings; The barbershop owner requested something classic with a touch of the vintage hipster:
The bookcase mural was painted in a school staffroom, containing the favourite childhood book titles of the staff, from timeless classics to modern myths; I painted the tree in a school corridor, an area used for reading and nurture activities.
I was also commissioned to work in a local pub, painting signs, quotes and murals to suit the style of the establishment and to represent the local area. Most recently I have painted murals in the pool area of Hillsborough Leisure Centre, designed around their Tiki bar logo and colour scheme, with my own illustrations decorating the slide .
The 'Art' of Adventure

Here are just a few examples of some of the work I have had the opportunity to create on three different continents. Though they may be timeworn and likely not to exist anymore, the memories form a notable part of my past.
I took a gap year trip to Kenya in 2004, during which I worked as a volunteer teacher in a Roman Catholic school. Before I left I was asked to paint the corridors and to design and paint a new school logo, I willingly obliged. I painted numerous things while on a working holiday to Melbourne, Australia, including this large scale rainforest mural on a partially outdoor garden wall. During my travels through Nepal I spent some time in a small orphanage in Pokhara, where I painted an old blackboard with illustrations from the children’s favourite picture book, put on display in their refurbished playroom.
